Car Rental

To rent a car in Costa Rica you need:

Credit card
Valid driver's license
Passport

The credit card is run through as collateral. The slip is given back when you return the car. You can use cash to pay for the rental but not for the guarantee.

Basic insurance is mandatory. You will be able to upgrade it to full insurance for around $20.   

Inspect the car thoroughly. Make sure it has a jack and safety triangles.
